Momentai, Sai Kung
Momentai is a popular restaurant and bar located along the iconic Sai Kung waterfront of Hong Kong. The open architecture of the venue allows patrons to fully experience the natural beauty of the location with a stunning view out onto the ocean, the fresh air as well as the radiant sun.
With a strong personal connection to the area, I was delighted to be offered the job of designing the drinks coaster for the venue, Momentai. With the aim of artistically representing this one-of-a-kind restaurant experience through a coaster, I chose to illustrate a snapshot of the iconic view observable from the restaurant.
Process
Once I had established my creative direction for the design I sourced a photo taken from Momentai that outlooked onto ocean with traditional Hong Kong boats in the background. This photo served as a reference from which I began constructing my illustration.
